The International Competition Jury of “Flahertiana-2015” is formed. Among the Jury Members are filmmaker and producer Alexey Fedorchenko, director of the ethnic festival KAMWA Natalia Shostina, filmmaker, writer and producer Dwayne Johnson-Cochran, film scholar Barbara Wurm. The Jury President this year is Dutch filmmaker Leonard Helmrich.

Alexey Fedorchenko is a producer and filmmaker at film studio «29 fevralya», a member of the European Film Academy, of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and Guild of Directors of Russia. He is well known by his “Kids of the White Grave” (2003), “Ovsyanki” (2010), “Celestial Wives of the Meadow Mari” (2012), and other films. One of his latest works is a sensational film “Angels of Revolution” which we will see as a special event on the IDFF Flahertiana-2015.

Natalia Shostina, the director of International KAMWA Festival of Contemporary Ethnic Cultures is a laureate of Stroganov Award for the outstanding achievements in the field of art and culture.

International Jury also includes filmmaker, writer and producer Dwayne Johnson-Cochran (USA) and film critic Barbara Wurm (Germany). Most famous for his documentary films “Side by Side” and “The Story of a Village” Dwayne Johnson-Cochran is now working with the international feature film “The Queen of War” with Russian filmmaker Sergey Bodrov. Barbara Wurm is known as the programming director for film festivals Dok Leipzig, goEast, Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen and cinematheques in Vienna, Munich and Berlin. She is now working on her PhD thesis about the Soviet educational films of the 1920th.

And the head of the Jury this year is Leonard Retel Helmrich (the Netherlands). Award winner for international documentaries at the Sundance Festival (USA) and was first two-time winner of the International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (IDFA), Leonard Helmrich is the author of “Promised Paradise” (2006), “Position among the Stars” (2010), “Raw Herring” (2013). He is famous for perfecting the 'Single Camera Shot' film theory which he will present in Perm on his workshop.

Flahertiana International Competition Program has 15 documentaries. The IDFF Flahertiana-2015 is held in Perm, September 18-24. This year is 15th festival held and its 20th anniversary.
