One of the links connecting the IDFF Flahertiana with the world cinematography is the partnership to European film festivals. This year DOK Leipzig, the main documentary film festival in Germany, became this partner. Flahertiana will screen three of the best films of DOK Leipzig 2015. The program is supported by DOK Leipzig and Goethe Institut.

On the 17^th of September “Parchim International”, a tragicomedy of a multicultural clash, will be screened. Chinese investor Jonathan Pang purchased an old military airbase in a remote area of north east Germany. Here, he wants to create an international hub for China, Europe and Africa.

On the 18^th of September the audience of Premier Cinema Center will see “Café Waldluft”, an emotional film about a hotel in Bavaria, which gave shelter to refugees of various origins, capturing an utopic moment.

On the 19^th of September the program of “Flahertiana” includes a film “Naked Beauty”, a sketch of amateur nude models' ordinary lives when they arise in the middle of a silent room, to remain in a pose for minutes and hours.

DOK Leipzig Special at the IDFF Flahertiana will be presented by Cornelia Klauss, dramaturge and member of the selection committee of DOK Leipzig.

The IDFF DOK Leipzig has existed since 1955. It became the first international film festival in East Germany. Since the beginning the festival has included animated films in its competitions. In 2004 the program DOK Industry appeared, which gave the opportunity to meet on the professional field. Nowadays the festival gathers more than 48.000 people annually. Winning films of DOK Leipzig Short Film  International Competition are qualified to participate in the Oscar Awards.
