FLAHERTIANA OPENS WITH A FILM ABOUT REAL MEN FRIENDSHIP
The Opening Ceremony of the Flahertiana festival will take place on September 20 in the Organ Hall of the Perm Philharmonic at 19:00. Spectators will get acquainted with the jury of the festival and see a film about the unusual Norwegian choir “The Men’s Choir”.
In the film we see a story of how suddenly a dream comes true at an amateur choir: they will be opening the concert of famous British rock band Black Sabbath. However, at this moment one of the choir participants announces that he is seriously ill, and summer turns into a race against time…
“The Men’s Choir” received the prize as the best film of the documentary competition of the Moscow International Film Festival. The filmmakers are Petter Sommer, twice laureate of the Norwegian television prize Gullruten (Golden Screen), and screenwriter and journalist Jo Vemund Svendsen.
During the opening of the festival, the winners of the VUZ-Flahertiana – organizers of the best discussions after documentary screenings – will be awarded. The competition will be held from September 9 to 19 in universities, colleges and schools of Perm.
The Opening Ceremony of Flahertiana will be held on Friday, September 20, at 19:00 in the Organ Hall of the Perm Philharmonic.
International Documentary Film Festival Flahertiana will be held in Perm from September 20 to 26.
