Frederic Violeau

graduated from film studies at Lille University and worked at film production companies (Odysseus in Nantes, Pandora in Cologne), at film festivals (Namur, Belfast, Berlin) and in European film organisations (Audiovisual Eureka, EAVE, Euromed Audiovisual, Cineuropa.org) as project manager. In 2006, he came back to his home island to direct documentaries. He made 4 documentary films and created the local film organisation Oya Films while writing for newspapers as a local journalist. In 2014, he moved to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) where he collaborated with Semfilms and worked for the Fespaco film market. He has been working for Docmonde (Eurasiadoc) and Lumiere du monde since April 2015.

The Docmonde association is a training organization that initiates and develops training sessions for authors and producers of documentary films as well as international meetings of co-productions through its programs Eurasiadoc, Africadoc, Asiadoc, Doc Amazonia Caribbean. Its goal is to bring out a new generation of creative documentary filmmakers and a network of independent producers in emerging countries where documentary representation is weak or absent.

The Lumiere du Monde association is an international producers' network with around 100 members in Europe, Africa, Eurasia, Caribbean Amazonia and the Indian Ocean. It aims at coordinating the collections of creative documentary films, which emanate from various training programs set up by its partners.
