My Mother, a War and Me (0+)

Germany , 2014, colour, 78 min.
Directors: Tamara Trampe , Johann Feindt
December 1942. WW II. A snowfield behind the Russian lines. That is where my mother gave birth to me. She was a nurse in the Red Army back then. She never talked about the war. “Leave me alone”, she used to say. Only two years before she died, we began to talk in front of the camera. This footage and many questions were in my bag, when I went back to Russia and to Ukraine. What was it to be a young woman at the front, what was the attitude to life?
