Inventory of the Motherland (16+)

the Netherlands, 2012, colour, 75 min.
Director: Ben van Lieshout
In the footsteps of photographer Prokudin-Gorskii Inventory of the Motherland follows two tracks, by boat and train, through the heart and through the North of Russia; each evokes and contrasts his inventory taking vision of the final years of the Russian Empire with a contemporary filmic outlook. Inventory of the Motherland is a colourful ode in image, sound and music to a Russia on the verge of Revolution and to the Russia of today.
