Gennadiy Gorodniy

Gennadiy Gorodniy

was born in 1957. He graduated from the Scriptwriting faculty of the Russian State University of Cinematography in 1989 and Directing Department of High Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors in 1991. From 1989 to 1994 he was a creative producer of the production company «Rost». He has been a director and a producer of the production company “School-studio of the Documentary Film” since 1994 and a chairman of the board and producer at the producing center of non-fiction film and television «Dialogue» since 2002. He is a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, the chairman of the board of the commission of non-fiction film at the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, the vice-president of Russian Documentary Guild. He is the head of the studio of nonfiction cinema and television VGIK (with A. Khaniutin from 1999 to 2004).
