Alexander Kalashnikov

graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, Sound technology department. Since 1983 he worked as the sound producer at the Krasnoyarsk branch of "The Sverdlovsk film studio" (since 1992. "Krasnoyarsk film studio") and took part in projects of other national and foreign film and TV companies. As the sound producer, he has taken part in the creation of more than 80 documentary, animation and fiction award-winning films, noticed by the international and Russian film festivals. Nowadays he is the director of LLC Krasnoyarskaya Kinostudiya and the member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.

The setting takes place in the solitude of Taiga, Siberia. Here at the end of the 19th century the Old Believers and dissenters hid from persecutions. In a local club where an old film projector has remained, the projectionist tries to organise a real cinema.
