Perm Region, Chernushka Distrikt, Nikolaevskoye Village. Once a big settlement, Nikolaevskoye is now nothing more than a church and a dwelling house. In this church, an orthodox temple, in 1995 a convent was organized. The nuns are mostly old women from the nearest villages. Why did they come there and how they live? That we learn from this film.

Konstantin Shitov
was born on 28 October 1954 in Krasnoskamsk, Permskaya Oblast. He graduated from the Russian Philology Department of Perm State University (1986). In 1976-1989 Konstantin worked on Perm television. Since 1989 he works on Novy Kurs Film Studio as a cameraman and since 2002 as a director. Shitov is a member of the Russian Filmmakers Union (1994). He has created more than 50 documentary and popular science films.
