A Komi-Permiak legend about PeraBogatyr, son of the Earth, and Zaran the Beauty, daughter of the Sun is running through all the film. The same way, there are two young heroes in this film – him and her. Maxim is a postman in an ancient Kupros town, and Irina is a gynaecologist in Kudymkar city. They are of the same age, and you could think there’s nothing else common between them. But unexpectedly, the spectators find Maxim and Irina in the same village. The film presents a wide panorama of the today’s life of Komi-Permiak people.

AWARDS

The film was presented in Russian program of Millenium Festival, Brussels, and in the national competition program of the International Film Festival «Message to Man», St. Petersburg.

Anatoliy Baluev

Anatoliy Baluev

was born in 1946 in the Komi-Perm village Kochyovo of Permskaya Oblast. In 1973 he graduated from the faculty of Film history at Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). He worked as a popular science films editor at Sverdlovsk Film Studio. From 1988 to 1999 he was involved only in directing and scriptwriting. From 1999 to 2006 he worked as a director and head of combining TV movies on STRC "Ural" (Yekaterinburg). He is a laureate of Russian Federation State Prize in the field of Art and Literature (2002). Anatoliy died on May 13 2013 in Yekaterinburg and was buried at the cemetery of Kochyovo village of Komi-Permyatsky Autonomous District (Perm Region).
