Everybody knows Perm as a theatre and ballet city. There is a well-known Opera and Ballet Theatre, a famous ballet school, which sends its graduates to dance at the best world stages, and a grateful public, understanding and loving the art. But maybe fewer people know it all started at hard times of the World War II when Molotov (this was then the name of Perm) hosted the Mariinsky Theatre and the Vaganova Choreography School evacuated from Leningrad almost blocked by the fascists then. This is how this evacuation romance started, and still continues…

Boris Karadzhev

Boris Karadzhev

was born in Perm. He graduated from Perm State University and VGIK. For many years he collaborated with various film studios and TV companies, took part in the creation of over 60 films. Between 2001-2006, he was the editor-in-chief of Russian Central Studio of Documentary Films (RCSDF). Since 2002, he is a teacher at the documentary film directing class at VGIK.
