Gerald Degaltsev

was born in 1930. After school he graduated from the Odessa Institute of Marine Transport Engineers. Disappointed in the profession of the engineer of the Russian navy, he entered the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). Since 1960 he started working at the film studio Kazakhfilm, then – Kirgizfilm, since 1976 – at the Sverdlovsk Film Studio.
