Nikolai Makarov

is a filmmaker, scriptwriter. Member of the Union of Filmmakers of Russia, Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio (EATR). In 1986 he graduated from Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK, workshop of V. Lisakovich). Since 1985 he has been working as a director at “LenNauchFilm” and other film studios and central TV channels. He has made over 50 TV films and cycle TV programs. Nikolai is the participant and winner of many international festivals, he is also the FIPRESCI award recipient (France). Since 2001 he has been teaching at Saint-Petersburg University of Film and Television. He is currently the master of a film course at the Higher School of Directors and Scriptwriters at “LenFilm”.

The film narrates about Lyudmila (Lialya) Stanukinas, the Leningrad documentary filmmaker, the wife of film director Pavel Kogan. The film has been shot for 4 years as a chronicle, in the style of "home handy camera", and also includes her footage from 2010. However, this story is NOT about a filmmaker, but about a woman heroically struggling with loneliness, and putting all her effort to keep LOVE in her heart. The heroine exists in the episodes of the film without any comments. Also the plot consists of fragments and pieces of old films and newsreels...
