The actor Dmitri Konsovsky was arrested in the night of 2 to 3 December 1934 when he was featuring in the “A Severe Young Man” film then in production, three hours after his meeting with the film director. Four years later Konsovsky died in the prison’s hospital ward a few days before being executed. Within the 30 years of his short life, he had a chance to work with Vsevolod Meyerhold, Abram Room and Vsevolod Pudovkin, to visit Nazi Germany and to get the sentence of the Stalinist “troika” (three-assessors court-martial). 70 years later, the son of his brother Nikolay got access to Konsovsky’s case file.
