Chen, an artist who desires to become a surrogate mother, discovers that her friends are looking for a surrogate. Together with her partner and two children, the entire family embarks on an extraordinary journey, in which friendship and ethical questions will be put to the test. The film examines the concept of collaborative partnership at the deepest and most human level and allows an intimate observation of ordinary people who have chosen to participate in something as large as life itself.
