John Blouin

Studying litterature and semiology, John Blouin became a NFB projectionist. That's where he create Cabina Obscura, a live cinema performance with 35-16mm, HD, shadows, music and flesh. Different artist joint the Cabina Obscura experience as Martin Tétreault, Bernard Falaise, René Lussier, Fred Lebrasseur, Sylvie Chartrand. John Blouin and his Cabina Obscura have perform in many towns and festivals, from Montreal to Beijing. Aside from the live cinema, John push further his work on moving picture, directing shorts films like Le Baiser de Laure and Change Over. At last, I just launch Filmstripe, a short film tribute to the projectionist craft, and for the Cinéma ONF. The premiere was at FNC 2012.
