Vladimir Gerchikov

was born on October 9 in 1943 in Khabarovsk. He graduated from the faculty of journalism in Leningrad state university in 1968. Vladimir is the scriptwriter and director of more than 30 documentaries. In 1993 he founded independent studio “Telemost” in Voronezh and has been its director ever since. He was the president of Nonfiction cinema and TV Guild from 2005 to 2012. He is a member of Russian Television Academy, Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences “Nika”, award winner of the Russian Federation state prize (2002), Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2004).
