A Mari composer Ury Savateevich Evdokimov, a classical Russian intellectual, lives in a village called Ivankovo in Suksunsky district of Perm region. Not everyone treats him right in the village. Problems with local school administration arise. But none of home-folks can deny the contribution he made to Mari culture – he created hymn of the Republic of Marij El. The composer himself does not regret for the period when he wrote serious chamber and choral music. The film is based on contradictions between real intellectual and villages.
