At the beginning of the 19th century the plant-owner Nikolai Demidov acquired a small principality San Donato in the environs of Florence. Afterwards one of Demidov’s offsprings so beautifully named a small railway station near Nizgniy Tagil... The film-essay is about internal and external relationships of peoples and times.

Anatoliy Baluev
was born and grew up in the village Kotchevo (Komi-Permaytzkiy Okrug in the present Perm Krai). In 1973 he graduated from the VGIK and more than 25 years worked in the Sverdlovsk film studio first as an editor then as a director. In recent years he has shot films in various film and TV studios of Ekaterinburg.
