The first record of the Mansi family of Bakhtiyarov can be found as early as in the beginning of the 19th century. The principal source of the family’s prosperity at that time was hunting deer. Today, they are homeless with no deer and no future. Head of the family Alexey works as a forest-guard in the Vishera Reserve. His children Lisa and Kolya live at a boarding school in Krasnovishersk. The story is built around the family’s trip to the places of their once prosperous grandfathers, where the Bakhtiyarovs’ family will never return…
