Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the heart of one of 480 slums surrounding Carioca City, among horrifying need, lifes of three heroes are shown. They are priest Mario, prostitute Unis and Israel, chairman of the local community council. They are surrounded by poverty, drug traffic, cruelty of police, but also with durable national Afro-Brazil culture with its own customs, music carnival, that always gives a special rhythm to the Brazil life. The film is full of humor, and with the help of portraits of the three characters permits us to penetrate to their life as a mirror of Brazil society.
