Extases (0+)

Belgium, 1989, colour, 29 min.
Director: Michel Jacard
Initially “Extases” were written for September Nights festival (Liege, 1985) by a composer Philippe Bausmence and were put on by “Synonyms” troupe. Later the wish appeared to fill the space, that was opened by music, with body movement. So film director Michel Jacard and dancers Patricia Quiper and Kit Ormand decided to investigate the relations between dance and music, dance and camera. The space for the game is studio with the floor flooded by water thus being a mirror, generating the light energy. This video-choreography is an attempt to embody on film music itself, abstract art, that left visible trace, in the hope to fix the time of EXTASES.
