Yuri Shiller

Yuri Shiller

was born in the town of Okha, Sakhalin region. After the army service he entered the All-Russia State Institute of Cinematography from where he graduated in 1969 (the workshop of Grigory Chukhrai). First he worked at the CenterNauchFilm, then at the film studio of Alma-Ata. He has been a film-director at the Novosibirsk-telefilm studio since 1975. He has made over 50 films - among them are feature ones, popular-science and documentary ones. He is a member of the Cinema Makers’ Union of Russia. Currently lives and works in Novosibirsk.
