Nikolay Makarov

Director, scriptwriter

Nikolay Makarov is a filmmaker, scriptwriter, television director, member of the Union of Filmmakers of Russia, Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio (EATR). In 1986 he graduated from VGIK’s course of Documentary and TV film Directing (workshop of V. Lisakovich). Since 1985 he has been working as a director at “LenNauchFilm” and other film studios and central TV channels. He has made over 50 TV films and cycle TV programs. Nikolay is the participant and winner of many international festivals, he is also FIPRESCI award recipient (France). Since 2001 he has been teaching at Saint-Petersburg University of Film and Television. He is currently the master of a film course at the Higher School of Directors and Scriptwriters at “LenFilm”.
