Elizabeth Marschan

jury president, director, a board member of ELKE ry, Finland

After graduating from the University of Helsinki where she studied Romance Linguistics, Russian Language and Literature and History of Art, Marschan joined the broadcasting company MTV3 Finland where she worked purchasing, researching, writing and producing documentaries, reportages and music programs. During her time at MTV3 as a filmmaker and scriptwriter, Marschan created many works for television such as “The Soviet Woman”, “Ilya Repin 1844 – 1930” and “Ilya Ehrenburg” – traveling widely in the Soviet Union and Russia. From 1996 to 2000 Marschan worked as Head of Documentaries in London at the European Media Development Agency. She is a founding member, as well as, a member of the Board of DocPoint Helsinki Documentary Film Festival, member of the Selection Committee of the Tampere International Short Film Festival, as well as the Board of the Finnish Documentary Guild, and a jury member of numerous international competitions in the field of short film, documentary film, arts and music.
