Mahvash Sheikholeslami

Born in Iran and went to Girl's School of Fine Arts in Tehran where she majored in painting under the guidance of Mahmoud Farshchian, the famous Iranian miniaturist. After obtaining her high school diploma, she went to London and studied cinema at the London Film School. She contributed to many movies and TV serials as an executive producer and worked with renowned Iranian filmmakers such as Kiarostami, Taghvaee and Hatami. She has taught film production at Tehran TV University. Since 1996 she has been making her own films. Her research and filmmaking interests are: cultural heritages, environmental and women issues. She is currently a permanent member of Iran’s Documentary Filmmakers Association.
