LetsDOC
LetsDOC Film Lab is a mentoring project for young documentary filmmakers: graduates and students of film studies, including journalism, as well as for more experienced film professionals. This is Russia's first documentary film laboratory, which not only works with film projects, but also gives their authors a chance to present their projects to Russian and foreign representatives of the film industry.
LetsDOC consists of two stages: the training in project development with Russian and foreign mentors and project pitching and rough-cut presentations to Russian and foreign experts (producers, sales-agents, representatives of funds, festivals, producing editors of TV channels and other representatives of film industry).
Training that takes place in Perm on August 10-18, 2022 is a fundamental part of the lab. It helps filmmakers to work through the project idea, to make the local Russian stories universal and close not only for the Russian audience, to prepare presentation materials, to edit a teaser, to develop project presentation skills for the international audience.
The Lab is for Russian authors of documentary film projects. Each project goes through a training pitching, individual consultations with mentors and group discussions. The mentors are Russian and foreign professionals in the field of documentary films.
The central event of the laboratory will be the LetsDOC Pitch -international pitching and rough-cut presentations - which will take place in Perm as part of Flahertiana International Film Festival on September 20-21, 2022.
Russian and foreign professionals from various fields of production, promotion and distribution of documentary films will be invited as pitching experts.
