Flahertiana. ADA Post-production Lab Perm-2015 Presentation

Flahertiana. ADA Post-production Lab Perm-2015 will be presented at XIV International Documentary Film Festival Flahertiana.

The selection of 12 participants will take place in October, right after the end of the festival.  During one year Polish and Russian documentary film experts will consult young directors at all stages of filming. There are three meetings planned when tutors will come to Perm in person. The rest of the time young directors of Flahertiana. ADA Post-production Lab Perm will consult with Polish film experts via e-mail and Skype. 

Among the teachers of Flahertiana. ADA Post-production Lab Perm will be leading directors, producers, distributors, editors and sound producers of both countries. Olga Averieva on the work of the Lab: «Documentary films in Poland are a whole industry. Our Polish colleagues have a lot to teach us. Among Lab tutors are Pawel Pawlikowski, who made documentary films in Russia about Dostoevsky’s descendant and politician Zhirinovsky, one of the Poland’s best editors Agnieszka Glinska and well-known producer Dorota Roszkowska». As a result of the year’s work 12 films made by young directors will be presented next autumn, at Flahertiana-2015. 

Flahertiana. ADA Post-production Lab Perm will be presented at IDFF Flahertiana by coordinator of Academy of Documentary Arts (ADA) Adam Paplinski.

Tutors:

DOROTA ROSZKOWSKA, producer

Born in 1960. She lived in Holland for many years where she worked in the audiovisual industry and marketing. In the years 1997-2002 Dorota Roszkowska worked as the Commissioning Editor in the cultural department of TVP2 at Polish Television where she dealt with co-productions for the European Cultural Channel ARTE. Under her editorship many documentary films, international debate panels and TV broadcasts were made and broadcasted in Poland and Europe. She works also as the film expert for the European Commission and international tutor. Dorota Roszkowska is the main producer at Arkana Studio. She heads the Academy of Documentary Arts www.academyofdoc.euorganizing the international trainings and Dragon Forum pitching at the Krakow Film Festival.

JERZY ŚLADKOWSKI, film director

Graduated from the Department of Classical Philology at the University of Torun and in 1973 from Department of Journalism at the University of Warsaw. During his studies at the faculty, in 1972, he started to work for Polish Television, first as a reporter, then as director of reportages and documentaries. In 1982, he left Poland and settled in Sweden, where he lives and works today. He makes documentary films for Swedish Television and Swedish Film Institute and collaborates also with Finnish, Danish and Norwegian televisions. Since 1993 he is also a contributor to the German public ZDF TV and ARTE satellite channel. Since the departure of Polish made ​​over 30 documentaries mostly on social issues and many of them in Russia. From 2011 he spends most of time in Poland directing films and working as expert of Polish Film Instituite. Jerzy Sladkowski is Member of the European Film Academy (EFA) and from 2012 he is tutor at Academy of Documentary Arts (ADA).  In 1996 he received FELIX prize for contribution to the development of the European documentary film.

JAKUB ŚLADKOWSKI, editor

Graduated from Kungsholmen's Gymnasium, The International Baccalaureate in Stockholm, Sweden and Eastbourne College of Arts & Technology in Eastbourne, Great Britain. He began his career in film editing in 2001, as an assistant to Agnieszka Bojanowska, with whom he has been collaborating until present. His first professional project as a film editor was Noble Virgins (dir. Jerzy Śladkowski, 2002). He specializes in documentary films. So far, he has been involved in over 50 productions, both Polish and international, as a film editor, assistant film editor and a camera assistant. Majority of films he has been working on was internationally acclaimed. He is a member of Polish Association of Film Editors (PSM) from 2009. Currently he is collaborating with Bogdan Dziworski, Wojciech Staroń and Jerzy Śladkowski.
