How Do You Write a Documentary?

Not the most pleasant and favoured, but at the same time an important and integral part of working on a non-fiction project is writing texts. Applications, synopses, loglines, script plans, scripts, explications - just listing these documents makes a filmmaker's head spin. What is the difference between a script proposal and a theme proposal? What is the "Hollywood formula for a logline"? How do you write and format a documentary script? And why write it all, if you know in advance that on the set everything will go some other way?

We will search for the answers to these and other questions together with Vsevolod Korshunov, Candidate of Sciences in History of Arts, screentwriter, editor, Associate Professor at VGIK and Moscow Institute of Cinematography and mentor at the LetsDOC-2022 Film Lab.
