HUNTERS FOR THE DOC AUDIENCE. Master class by Dorota Roszkowska

How to make a local film that would travel internationally? How to create the film on nature that will be able to compete with the BBC’s productions? How to create the audience before finishing the film?

Polish producer and founder of Arkana Film Studio Dorota Roszkowska will talk about how to find the audience for a documentary film before it is finished in the case study of the film "Honey Hunters" by Krystian Matysek.

Honey Hunters is a life story of bees and people. In order to get to the bottom of mysteries of the life of bees and show them to the audience, the camera enters a contemporary hive and a traditional wild beehive drilled in the trunk of an old tree. It wanders the forests in Poland and Ural, mountains in Nepal and roofs of Paris and Warsaw. For millions years bees have been laboriously building the natural environment of our planet. These days, they started to die by millions, but some people know how to help them survive.
