The once green Nogai steppe in the south of Dagestan is turning into a vast desert. A simple countrywoman Gulfira is trying to save her home land from this ecological disaster. Every autumn the brigade she heads goes to the heart of the newly-formed desert for several months. They walking a dozen kilometers each day and stick thin seedling-twigs into the dry sand hoping that the shrubbery will take root and stop the sand. Will Gulfira win this battle with the forces of nature?

Participant of international Pitching sessions and workshops such as Ex-Oriente (Czech Republic), Dragon Forum (Poland) and others. Executive director of industrial programs and member of the selection committee of DOKer Moscow IFF. Member of the Russian Documentary Guild.
