In a remote village in the Talysh mountains between Iran and Azerbaijan, a TV repairman dusts off his old Soviet film projector. He dreams of bringing his village together in front of the silver screen once more. But he faces one obstacle after another, until he finds an unexpected ally – a young film fan. Two generations meet and bring cinema and its light back to the village.

Orkhan Aghazadeh

Orkhan Aghazadeh was born on 30 August 1988 in Lenkoran, Azerbaijan. After graduating in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Slavic University in Baku, Azerbaijan, he became interested in documentary film. His first short documentary, «Lettre à Lénine», had its world premiere at the Leipzig International Film Festival. His second documentary project, «Icarus», took part in the regional documentary development project – CAUCADOC – and won the prize to participate in the East Doc Platform in Prague. Received MA in Film Directing at the London Film School, graduated with distinction. His graduation short, «The Chairs», was accepted into a number of festivals including Palm Springs Short FF, Angers Premiers Plans FF, Tampere FF, Brussles FF, Poitiers FF.
