Everybody knows Perm as a theatre’ and ballet’ city. Here, there are a well-known theatre of opera and ballet, a famous ballet school whose graduates are dancing on the best stages all around the world, and a grateful public, understanding and loving the art. But maybe somebody doesn’t know that all of it is originated from the heavy period of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), when Molotov (this was then the name of Perm) took over from Leningrad blocked by the fascists, the evacuated Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Kirov (now Mariinsky Theatre) and Vaganova’ Choreography School. Boris Karadzhev

Boris Karadzhev

was born in Perm. He graduated from Perm State University and VGIK. He started his professional carrier at Perm television studio. During many years he collabprated as an author and director with various Film Studios and TV companies, took part in creation of over 60 films, as well as in a number of international projects. Between 2001-2006 he was the editor-in-chief of Russian Central Studio of Documentary Films (RCSDF). From 2002 he is a teacher at the documentary film directing class at VGIK.
