“Bottom” is an investigation. What happened from February to October 1917? How did Russia’s outstanding minds come to the idea of destroying the monarchy? Why did the church and people so quickly abandon the Anointed of God? The main characters of the film are historical figures who were active participants in those events and left behind themselves extremely contradictory memories. Interviews based on the diaries and memoirs of the conspirators, and the testimonies they gave at the interrogations of the Extraordinary Investigation Commission of the Provisional Government, are presented on the screen by professional actors.

Sergey Miroshnichenko, Angelina Golikova
was born in Chelyabinsk in 1955. In 1983, he graduated from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. He worked with Sverdlovsk film studio, and Nikita Mikhalkov’s studio “TRITE” until founding his own studio “Ostrov” in 1999. Since 1998, he is a professor at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. Winner of multiple Russian and international awards.
