A provincial priest, Father Andrey, in his free time, restores lost graves on the outskirts of a dacha village and digs out the foundation of an ancient church on the banks of a reservoir. He examines the found remains in the attic of Mayakovsky's dacha. But at some point, this activity begins to take up all his free time. Excavations of bones and passion for philosophy bring him into conflict with church leadership. Only local freaks support him with enthusiasm. But, unfortunately, this is not at all what he aspires to.
