Within the Polar Circle in the remote Baidaratskaya tundra at the shore of round like moon lake there is the Land of Hope. Here the writer Anna Nerkagi and her forty adopted children build their paradise. Anna knows that she can’t change the world but her task is not to allow the world totally dissappear. She turns the time anticlockwise trying to reconcile labor, belief and national culture of her people. The name Nerkagi is translated from the Nenets language as “Clan of Unbending People”.

Ekaterina Golovnia

in 1995 graduated from VGIK, workshop of Prof. I.V. Vaisfeld. During student years she worked as assistant director at film “All power to love”, newsreel editor (program “New Age History”, NTV channel), wrote scripts and texts for documentary films. As part of “100 films about Moscow” project based on Ekaterina’s scripts two films were shot: “Moscow…of Love” and “Martovshzhina”. In 2009 she was awarded with a special prize of Veterans Jury at “Man and War Festival” (as director). In 2011 at Stalker Festival Ekaterina was awarded a special prize of UN High Commissioner on Refugees in Russia for the film “Lost in the Fields” (script and director).
