«The Pipe» is about modern Europe. About two of its edges, or more correctly – extremes. About Europe, which begins in a deserted area of eternal winters of Siberia and ends on the warm beaches of Biscay, where even the laws of nature form a fundamentally different styles of human existence. What can unite such different lives? Physically - the pipeline "Western Siberia – Western Europe". The pipeline not just united, but also tied inseparably THIS Russia with THIS Europe.

Vitaly Mansky
was born in 1963 in the city of Lviv. In 1982 he joined the State Institute of Cinematography (workshop of S.E. Medynsky). He debuted in cinematography in 1989, and since that has made more than 30 films. In 1996-1998 – the general producer of TV channel «REN-TV». He is the founder of an archive of amateur home newsreels for the years 1945-1991. Since 1999 – head of production and demonstration of documentary programs on the channel «Russia», the author and the host of «Real cinema». Since 2004 – creative director of the studio «Vertov. Real cinema». Laureate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Awards, medal of Rosaviokosmos Russia «The Blue Planet», Member of The Academy of Cinema "Nika", Member of the Russian Television Academy "Taffy", Member of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio. Publisher of the oldest Internet magazine on documentary filmmaking "VERTOV.RU". Author of the manifesto «Real cinema». General producer of the National Award "The Laurel Branch", President of the Moscow festival of documentary films "ARTDOKFEST."
