The walls of “Moscow” (0+)

Russia, 2004, b/w, 26 min.
Director: Boris Karadzhev
Impressive building of the Hotel Moskva erectedat the very heart of the city back in 1935 for long70 years has been an important architectural and historical landmark of the capital. It’s not by chance that the first hotel built in Soviet times stands in such a symbolic place - right next to the Kremlin. Its walls have silently witnessed all key events of the Russian national history: war time bombings and Victory Parade, funeral of Stalin and first Moscow International Film Festival, celebratory fireworks and political meetings and protests during early 1990s. Just recently due to the critical condition of the building the decision has been taken to demolish the hotel and build on the same place a new exactly same one but with contemporary 5-star facilities and interiors...
