When a film in the style of Sex & the City is filmed in Finland, the main actors are Bulgarian men in Helsinki, and the result is a good-natured comedy about a young man?s attempt at understanding what it is to be single after the break-down of his marriage. The director of the film, Tonislav Hristov, is also the protagonist who decides to look for new love. Tonislav and his three loyal friends go through etiquette training, dance lessons, grooming as well as fitness training, yet without success as the dreaded 30-year birthday arrives. Rules of Single Life is a film about men who like women and are not afraid to show their feelings.

Tonislav Hristov
was born in 1978 in Vratza, Bulgaria. Has been living in Finland since 2001. He started his film studies in Stadia, Helsinki Polytechnic College and did his first documentaries for YLE1 Basaari and Mundo series. Has worked as assistant for Pirjo Honkasalo, Arto Halonen and Kiti Luostarinen. Rules of Single Life is his first feature length documentary.
