In 1992 during Georgian-Abkhazian conflict the well-known apery in Sukhumi turned out to be in the center of operations. The fights were not only on the nearby streets but also at the territory of the apery. Some monkeys were transferred to Russia in the affiliate of the institution in Adler. Unfortunately, not all primates managed to survive. Hundreds of them died because of cold, starvation and stress. The Sukhumi apery story is not simple another (unfortunately!) drama of the human and nature worlds conflict. This is though odd but accurate reflection of what happens with human society in so-called “hot spots”. In Abkhazia, Chechnya, Kosovo. There are many of them at our planet…

Boris Karadzhev

Boris Karadzhev

was born in Perm. He graduated from Perm State University and VGIK. He started his professional carrier at Perm television studio. During many years he collabprated as an author and director with various Film Studios and TV companies, took part in creation of over 60 films, as well as in a number of international projects. Between 2001-2006 he was the editor-in-chief of Russian Central Studio of Documentary Films (RCSDF). From 2002 he is a teacher at the documentary film directing class at VGIK.
