“In my view, Rhine is the most prominent poet of our generation, that is the generation I belong to…”, – wrote about his friend the Nobel prize laureate Iosif Brodskiy.
Last year Evgeniy Borisovich Rhine celebrated his 70-th birthday. It doesn’t mean at all that we tried to make a certain anniversary panegyric. We simply wanted to shoot a film about an outstanding poet and a bright person. Why not to do it towards his anniversary? Evgeniy Borisovich himself was not against it… Our film about Rhine is a peculiar poet’s monologue “about time and about himself”. It includes famous Rhine’s stories, his memories of Anna Ahmatova and Iosif Brodskiy, and the details of his past and present life, and of course his poems – already classical and modern…
