A film about a woman living in one of the poor quarters of Istanbul. She is far from young. She trades fish in the market and wash linen by hands. In the block there is neither gas, nor waterpipe, nor school. Instead of them the government builds mosques. Nalan has decided to write the book about the woman from slums. Despite of the publication and success, nothing varies in her life. "Cease to think that you may learn someone to something, mind your place", that is a sad conclusion of the film.
