A lost village in Central Russia. Before there was 120 houses, now the only inhabitants left are eight old women, an old man and a young pregnant woman. All the village is dying of curiosity to find out who is the father of the child because there are no contacts with the outside world. But still everyone looks forward to the baby’s birth, especially the two sisters — the 84 year-old Maria and the 74 year-old Praskovia.

Vitaly Mansky

was born on December 2, 1963 in Lvov (Ukraine). Gratuated from VGIK (All-Russia State Institute of Cinematography). Vitaly Manski became a world-known documentary film director after Locarno 1993, where his “Lenin’s body” was awarded with PARDI DI DOMANI Section Prize.Vitaly Mansky is also the founder of the “MV STUDIO” (1993).
