Flahertiana will screen the Russian premiere of new film by Pawel Lozinski

“You Have No Idea How Much I Love You” — a new documentary of Pawel Lozinski — will be screened in Perm. This is an uneasy and very emotional story of mother-daughter relationship shot on the psychotherapy session. The film has received numerous awards all over Europe. The Russian premiere will take place at “Flahertiana”.

“You Have No Idea How Much I Love You” fits into the “therapeutic” concept of the contemporary Polish documentary cinema. This is neither an autobiography like David Sieveking’s “Forget Me Not” (“Vergiss mein nicht”, 2012), nor a family story like ones of Marcin Koszałka; watching the life of others Lozinsky once again reveals something important about himself and his emotions. “I tried to look as deep as possible into the souls of my heroes and understood that we, the people, are all very similar. We feel something, we try to make the others understand that, we dream of close relations with them, but all the time we hurt each other”, — says the filmmaker.

Hania, a woman in her twenties, and Ewa, and her mother go to see a psychotherapist to solve a problem. They have been unable to find common ground for years. They want therapy to break the deadlock in their communication. The name of the film says for itself: the confession of love is connected with emotional blackmailing. Thus, the words “you have no idea…” sound as a reproach of a loving person to the object of this love who does not understand the whole taking meaning of this feeling. The phrase that gave the name to the film was said by one of the heroines. The words which were aimed to soothe the pain only made the conflict worse. Nothing is simple and obvious in Losinski’s film. The plot of this documentary makes the audience feel involved during the whole film. And in the end, a tremendous plot twist is waiting for the patient viewer.

The special screening of “You Have No Idea How Much I Love You” will be presented by its DoP Kacper Lisowski.
