Introducing the project “Flahertiana. Stories"

The festival team presents the online exhibition “Flahertiana. Stories". The website flahertiana2020.ru contains 28 stories from those who created the festival 25 years ago and continues to work on it now. The site is available in two languages for Russian and foreign viewers.

Directors Alexey Fedorchenko, Sergei Miroshnichenko, Boris Karadzhev, film critics Marina Drozdova and Victoria Belopolskaya and others people also shared their thoughts on the festival and documentary films. The direct speech of the creators and participants of Flahertiana is supplemented by five mini-films about important heroes of the festival team who usually remain behind the scenes.

In addition, on the exhibition website you can read reviews of this year's films in competition, interview with the godfather of Flahertiana, the famous film historian Naum Kleiman and the rules of life of the Festival President Pavel Pechenkin. You’ll also see how the festival has changed since 1995 and share your story of acquaintance with Flahertiana.

The idea of the project, as of the festival itself, is based on a person. “The 25-year history of the festival also consists of human destinies and stories. We decided to tell about Flahertiana with the words of people who create it, as well as give a voice to the authors and heroes of the main films of the XX festival,” the authors say. The main texts of the exhibition will be included in the special anniversary catalog of the festival. The creation of such a project would not have been possible without the help of partners. “Flahertiana. Stories” is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
