The Cross (18+)

Russia, 1994, colour, 29 min.
Director: Gennadiy Gorodniy
The film is a story about the Idea, about the time of a great lie. Authors tell about those who have equaled the Idea and the Life, about the Idea that still kills nowadays... Three novels represent three lives: Brest Fortress protector Timiren Zinatov, poet Yulia Drunina, Marshal Akhromeev. Their destinies were very much alike. They were thinking about the bright future, about being involved in some greater good. They carried these ideas as a cross and didn't want to live in “this terrible, savage world created only for people with power”. It turned out that it is easier to die with the idea than to face the truth.
