How Is It Made Program

14 CASES (12+)

Estonia, 2017, colour, 83 min.
Director: Marianna Kaat
For almost four years, the film crew watched the heroes of the film – Ksenia and Emilia, who were transferred to Estonian kindergarten at the age of five; 12-year-old Mark
who suddenly decided to go to Estonian school on his own, and entrant Vitaly forced to leave Estonia. Diving into another language environment, is it worth those experiences and fears that children and their parents go through? How reasonable is it for new generations to follow the fateful decisions of their ancestors? What happens to the identity of citizens born in Estonia but still speaking Russian? The filmmakers managed to look at these and similar questions from an unexpected perspective.
