The debut film by the classic of world cinema Dziga Vertov. It was created for the first anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia. Until 2019, the film was considered lost; only scattered parts were kept in the archives. Film expert Nikolai Izvolov managed to find and put together all the fragments. The premiere of the restored film was held in November of 2018 at IDFA (Amsterdam).

Dziga Vertov

was a Russian Soviet pioneer documentary film and newsreel director, as well as a cinema theorist. His filming practices and theories influenced the cinéma vérité style of documentary movie-making and the Dziga Vertov Group, a radical film-making cooperative which was active from 1968 to 1972.
